Once upon a time, I did a lot of hand-drawn illustration work, primarily for trade magazines and newspapers. I did a lot of work for Steven Heller when he was the Art Director of the New York Times Book Review. I still do a lot of illustrative work, but for motion graphics, graphic design projects, or for logos.
Editorial illustration was a lot of fun to do, but didn’t pay well, was filled with politics, and the markets I pursued ultimately dried up with the advent of computers & shrinking magazine budgets. But I thought it would be a good idea to post some of my work here for archival purposes. I’m still very proud of the work I created back then.
